Your van’s power, on your phone.
Your Victron system already measures everything. VanessaCharge answers the three questions you actually ask about it, reading your own VRM installation directly — on iPhone, iPad, and, as an iPad app, Mac.

Am I gaining or losing battery — and is that unusual?
Discharging faster than avg
64% is unremarkable at four in the afternoon and a bad sign at nine in the morning. VanessaCharge compares the day against your own normal and says which one it is.

Am I getting about as much solar as I should be?
~303 Wh below clear sky in the last day (25%)
56 W could be a cloudy noon or a shaded panel. It is an estimate — in the data a cloud and a tree look alike — and enough to say whether today is worth going up on the roof for.
Have I been putting back as much as I have been using?
Avg discharged 1.86 kWh · Avg charged 1.79 kWh
The same comparison across a Week, a Month, or a Year — and under the chart, a strip per device showing what actually ran on each day.

The rest of it
- More than one installation — a van and a cabin, switched between in a tap.
- Widgets — state of charge and recent trends on the Home Screen.
- Inverter control — experimental, off unless you turn it on, and the one thing the app changes rather than reads. From the app, from Siri, or from a Shortcut.
All of it comes out of VRM, where the full detail lives. This is the short answer.
How it works
Nothing of ours sits in the middle. The app talks to Victron’s VRM API straight from your device, with a Personal Access Token you issue and revoke yourself. No account, no server of ours, nothing counting how you use it — which is why the privacy policy is short.
Will this work for my setup?
You need a Victron installation that reports to VRM. Past that, honestly: not known yet. It should work with anything that publishes to VRM, but the only system it is proven against is the one it was written for.
Connecting the first time means creating an access token in VRM, walked through screen by screen.
Getting it
VanessaCharge started as the app I wanted for my own van, which is where all three questions came from. A setup that is not mine is the fastest way to find out what it does not handle yet — email me and I will add you to the TestFlight.
